At Teen Challenge, we produce a variety of video content—from short films and social media reels to full TV commercials. To continue creating high-quality, relevant media, it’s essential that each center regularly captures and uploads up-to-date footage to your designated SMC Google Shared Drive.

In addition to photos and student interviews, we rely heavily on B-roll—candid video clips that visually represent daily life at your program. This includes footage of:

  • Vocational training
  • Mealtimes
  • Worship sessions
  • Church visitations
  • Thrift store workers
  • Mission trips
  • And other everyday moments at your center

B-roll is crucial for telling the full story of how God is moving through your Teen Challenge program. While you won’t be graded on the amount of B-roll you submit, your contribution directly supports the media team’s ability to inspire others and glorify God through visual storytelling.

As a guideline, please aim to upload at least five minutes of B-roll footage per month. This helps us maintain a strong library of authentic content that can be used across multiple platforms..

You do not need to use the tripod with the camera. Holding the camera with both hands works perfectly well. Make sure you switch the automatica focus to on on the lense (AF from MF).
A good rule to have is make sure the subject is clear, and in focus, your zoom is good enough to see the subject clearly in the viewfinder, press the record button (the camera must be on, and switched to the camera icon, then press the camera button on the front to start recording.), record for no less then ten seconds and stop recording.
